The Role: This is a new role, will be the sustainability lead for our Private Credit, Structured finance and Real Estate Finance investment teams (the "Teams") leading on all aspects of sustainability for these desks, including client engagement, the development and implementation of sustainable investment strategies and frameworks for these asset classes and governance. The Private Credit - Sustainability Lead will represent, support and coordinate the Teams in delivering regulatory compliance (e.g. SFDR, SDR), product sustainability requirements, as well as codifying M&G approach on asset class specific aspects. They will be able to represent internally and externally on sustainability matters for the Teams including engaging and training investment teams to support on the implementation of sustainability. The Private Credit - Sustainability Lead will need to be able to work collaboratively across the teams as well as with the central Sustainability & Stewardship team and a wide range of stakeholders across the business. Key responsibilities for this role: Collaborate with the central sustainability team in the development of sustainability frameworks and policies for private credit and securitised assets. Coordinate and represent the private credit and securitised/real estate assets investment and analyst teams to support on the integration of sustainability frameworks into investment process pre- and post- investment. Supporting on the implementation and on-going assessment of investments against sustainability frameworks. Help scale up our activities in the development of thematic and asset class specific frameworks/policies. Engagement with investment desks on sustainability and impact, in developing the relevant strategy and identify market trends and clients requirements. Represent Private Credit and Structured Finance in key initiatives/projects - from definition to implementation - and drive relevant execution. Represent the Teams with clients and external parties, promote the sustainability branding for M&G in the relevant areas externally. Support on the development and delivery of training. Responding to internal and external information requests. Key knowledge, skills and experience: A passion for sustainability is essential and an understanding of sustainability matters in the context of financial services private markets, and particularly private credit and/or securitised assets would be desirable. Working knowledge of key sustainability regulation e.g. SFDR and SDR and the sustainability and impact related products/strategies in Private Credit and Structured Finance. Excellent communication skills, including both written and verbal. Effective stakeholder engagement/management, and ability to build good relationships internally and externally. Ability to produce high quality reports/deliverables suitable for a senior audience. Excellent writing skills. Ideally an ability to synthesize information from complex data sets into simplified outputs for stakeholders. Ability to work independently, as well as collaborate effectively within a team environment. Proactive with individual accountability; takes ownership to drive delivery forwards without instruction. Effective problem-solving skills to design and implement solutions. Integrity and strong work ethic with a positive outlook and belief in our purpose. Self-starter, with strong time management skills, ability to deliver under pressure, prioritise to produce results and communicate challenges.
